Description
With electric fuel pumps, a safety shut-off is essential. Unlike mechanical fuel pumps, it must be ensured that no fuel is delivered when the engine is stopped. This is not only for safety but is also legally required to minimize the risk of fuel leakage in the event of an accident.
This 12V safety relay takes on exactly this task: when the ignition is switched on, the fuel pump is activated for approx. 2 seconds to fill the float chambers. The relay then switches the pump off again and only releases it when an rpm signal from the ignition coil is detected. As soon as the engine stops, the power supply to the fuel pump is automatically interrupted.
